I've been wanting to do some Dungeons and Dragons inspired patterns for awhile. Here's a first stab at a dice pattern. I think this would make for some fun circus leggings.

Feathers and Nerd Nite!
I'm honored to have the opportunity to present my math and art mashup at Austin Nerd Nite! It's this Wednesday at the North Door at 8 pm.
I'll be talking about Tiling on a Torus, and the 17 Wallpaper Groups.
In preparation, I made this repeat out of an old drawing.

Acroyoga
This is just a quick sketch. I'd love to come back and do some better figure drawing with this repeat. It's really fun with the glide reflections.

Embroidery
I meant to post this sooner, but here's a paisley I embroidered at Stitch Lab's Embroidery I back in June. Soon I hope to incorporate my new skill into some of my dyed textiles :)

Starlight Mint Swirls
Still tooling around with the madpattern templates. It's kind of amazing what structures start to form from just a few lines. This one reminds me of starlight mints :)

Glacier National Park
I'm back from vacation in Montana, and I've been working hard on a pattern for the Spoonflower National Parks contest. My imagery includes mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and the signature red "jammer" busses that traverse Going to the Sun Road.
It needs some polishing still, but here's a first draft:

Swings Asunder
I'm working on my homework backstage while volunteering for Swings Asunder. Go see it if you are in Austin, we have three more shows. I'm drawing inspiration from all the aerialists and masked turtle people in wigs. Here's today's pattern:

Loud & Proud
In celebration of the recent SCOTUS ruling, I made a rainbow pattern! Hooray for marriage equality!

Henna party
Tonight I invited some girlfriends over to practice henna. It's a wonderfully stringy henna from Rajasthan. It was so easy to draw nice lines, and I added a little cosmetic glitter just for fun. Missed out? I have frozen the rest, and need more practice, so let's get together and I'll draw on you.

Lemon Blossom
I made a lemonade inspired print for this week's Spoonflower contest. I named it "Lemon Party" because I'm a horrible person (don't google that. I'm serious.). It's now entitled "Lemon Blossom," and apologies for my horrible internet humor.

Just add imagery...
I recently experimented with adding my Mona Bear imagery to the p3m1 template, and look, a six-headed Maine Coon:
Imagine how bitey and hungry that would be. What a monster!

Wallpaper Group p4mg
There's no better way to learn than to get your hands dirty and do it yourself! Making my own wallpaper groups is really helping me understand each group. Today's is p4mg, which has a neat woven quality:
